Scottish Highland Games
Scottish Highland Games were introduced in America at the Grandfather Highland Games in 1956, near Linville, North Carolina. Since then, more than 100 Highland Games are held each year in the United States. Running 1 to 3 days, these events include athletic competitions, Scottish heritage competitions in dancing and piping, displays, ethnic food vendors, gift tents, clan and Scottish society displays.
The Montreat Scottish Society has a tent at the Grandfather and the Loch Norman Highland Games for the convenience of its members and to promote the society to prospective members.
